Elder/ Burmese Ministry
Joe is a new elder for 2011. Joe and his family, have been attending Southside for around 4.5 years. They love to work with the 'needs' type ministries and currently serve helping with the elderly, single moms and foster children. In 2011 they will be coming along side the Burmese and helping establish this ministry within SBC. When Joe was 15 years old, he took his best friend to church to a week long revival with evangelist Jamey Ragel. The whole sermon was focused on the topic of hell. He remembers sitting there the whole time hoping his friend was seeing his need for Christ and salvation. It was then that Joe realized his need for Christ. Joe has been married to wife Emily for a little over 9 years. Together they have four children. The older two are Joe’s children from a previous marriage (Rachel 22 and Aaron 18). Emily has two children from a previous marriage (Marissa 15 and Brendan 13). They have blended very nicely as a family. Each one of their children is involved in some type of ministry at Southside Bible. Joe is a contractor and is currently employed as a mechanical designer at Mussett/Nicholas Architects + Engineers in downtown Indianapolis. He enjoys playing baseball in an adult men’s baseball league in Indianapolis in the summer as well as remodeling his home, riding motorcycles and detailing automobiles. A few random facts about Joe… he is number 4 of 5 children and was raised in a loving Christian home where a relationship with Christ was very important.
