July 20, 1997
Twenty-five (25) adults and children met for a Bible Study at Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria.

January 18, 1998
The Bible Study was moved to the Club House at the Bay Shore Apartment Complex located
on Main Street in Greenwood.
June 7, 1998
Twenty-four (24) adults met at Eric and Beth Jefferson's home in Franklin to adopt a Church
Constitution and to vote to incorporate as an Indiana non-profit corporation. All twenty-four
(24) adults became Charter Members of Southside Bible Church.
August 24. 1998
Southside Bible Church became an Indiana non-profit corporation.
January 24, 1999
The congregation began meeting at 246 E. Main Street and leased the building until
purchasing it on March 18, 1999.
November 28, 1999
After outgrowing the building at 246 E. Main Street, the congregation began meeting on
Sunday mornings at Southwest Elementary School in Greenwood.
September 17, 2000
Once again because of Sunday morning attendance growth, the congregation moved. This
time to Westwood Elementary School located on Honey Creek Lane in Greenwood.
April 8, 2001
A 9:00 am Discipleship Hour was added to the 10:00 Worship Service on Sunday mornings.
June 7, 2002
Southside Bible Church purchased 11.5 acres including a four-bedroom house and two
barns located at 1225 W. Smokey Row Road, Greenwood, Indiana.
June 12, 2002
The church sold the 246 E. Main Street building to the Church of God.
September 18, 2003
Paid off the mortgage on the Smokey Row Road property.
August 1, 2005
Hired Dawn Hawkins as part-time Director of Children's Ministries.
August 7, 2005
Once again because of growth, the Sunday Morning Worship Service moved to Center
Grove Middle School North.
September 24, 2006
Church offices and all church activities, including Sunday Morning Worship, moved to
leased space at 1265 N. Madison Ave., across from the Greenwood Mall, after signing
an 18-month lease.
March 13, 2007
Hired Terry Foster as the full-time office manager.

Southside Bible’s Tenth Anniversary Celebration

Work begins on Classroom and Youth Wing Expansion into additional retail space at
1265 N. Madison Ave.
March 16, 2008
Hired Brad Spangler as Director of Student Ministries

Moved into our new Classroom and Youth Wing Expansion at 1265 N. Madison Ave.

Added a third worship service – going to two (2) Sunday Morning Worship Services,
one at 9:00 am, and the other at 10:45 am
